Mark Lindner
From GSLISWiki
Mark Lindner graduated with his MSLIS on 14 May 2006 and began on his Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) the very next day.
He was a Masters student who took his first GSLIS class in Summer 2004 and graduated in May 2006. He was active in the student chapters of ALA and ACRL and has served as the Information Officer for ACRL@UIUC. He is also a student member of ALA, ALCTS and LITA. He was a member of ACRL. He is also a member of ASIST. His bio page is available here
While he will never be as witty as Jenny Benevento he can at least consider her a friend; and is it rumor or simply unsubstantiated fact?
Worked as a GA in User Services for his 1st year, but has abandoned the landlubbers for the pirate crew in ITD (LEEP broadcasting and other fun and exciting times) to be with his 2nd year maties on Team Awesome (Jill, Matt, Miss E and the LEEP Tech GAs).
Having been accepted into the CAS program he will be hanging around GSLIS for a couple more years. His interests are classificatory structures, authority control, controlled vocabularies, the training and education of catalogers and metadata specialists (metadaters, metalogers, catadaters?), to include formal and informal education, continuing ed, professional development, and so on.
Is the Serials Cataloging GA as of August 2006. Was a GA at the Illinois Fire Service Library as the FireTalk (thesaurus) maintainer (Oct 2006 - May 2007). Worked as a Monographic Cataloging Grad Hourly Summer 2007 and is now also Monographic Cataloging GA. So I do monographs and serials now.
Is also a member of the ASIS&T Standards Committee, which is his first "professional" responsibility.
